About Reflexology

What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a form of body work and natural healing that uses gentle touch to stimulate pressure points located in the feet, hands, and ears, prompting a reflexive response throughout the entire body. The result is a noninvasive, gentle, yet effective therapy for stress reduction, mental fatigue, low energy, and overall health.

How does Reflexology Work?

A reflexology foot session provides the opportunity to put one’s feet up and relax while gentle pressure is used to stimulate specific reflex points on the feet and hands. By applying pressure using thumb, finger, and hand techniques to these areas it results in the reduction of stress which encourages physiological changes in the body. Stimulating a reflex promotes health in the corresponding areas of the body that are connected to the reflex. A full 50 minute foot treatment will cover all reflex points on both feet, helping to normalize all body functions, thus improving the overall health and balance of the entire body naturally.

Reflexology and Relaxation

Relaxation is viewed as an essential element to the overall health and condition of one’s physical, emotional, and mental well-being. It is known as the antidote to stress and plays an important part in the prevention of disease that is often associated with chronic stress. The lack and inability to relax will eventually cause tension, anxiety, and stress to increase. Overall health begins to suffer as the body becomes out of balance and loses its ability to function efficiently and effectively. Reflexology therapy promotes and facilitates the relaxation process and is a beneficial solution for those who have difficulty relaxing.
